Recently, I was on the rooftop of a bank. It’s a sweet spot to watch sunsets, sunrises, birds, and see what’s shakin’ at the church, restaurants, and shops below. I love going there to cry, laugh, reflect, and get direction for the next steps in my life. The bank reveals the horizon line. It’s autumn, so the trees are all the pretty colors: bright red, deep green, sparkling gold, and brilliant orange. Then there’s the sunsets: deep purple, hints of pink, orange, and sometimes yellow. Rooftops have a way of elevating my spirit and bringing me in tune with humanity, with enthusiasm for the irreversible change and transformation occurring within me, within all of us.
About a month ago, I left a meeting and decided to drive up for the lift. As soon as I was approaching the top, HUGE raindrops started to fall on my windshield. As I parked, a bold sunset was taking place on one side of the space, yet on the other was a massive rainstorm. A perfect integration for a rainbow. As soon as the thought surfaced, a rainbow did appear. And then another right above it. Incredible! I was out there running in the rain on one side, and observing the awe of the rainbow on the other. Rainbows make me think of peace. And the Power of the Creator all around us – all the time.
I’ve been accused over the course of my life of being a “Pollyanna” or “Micah, it’s not always rainbows and butterflies”, as if my optimism is a curse rather than a gift. I often reflect when those memories surface- who are the ones speaking those messages? I can see how miserable they are with their own lives and how much Light has always filled my life. A Light that is beyond human. A Light I love to grow with, depend upon. And I choose to let This Light have its way through ALL aspects of my life. Because This Light is my One and Only. My whole heart and Love of my life.
The message for you is this: optimism is not detached from the reality of the physical, tangible world we live in. This optimism hope is not based on what is seen but what is unseen. This vision of the invisible world is what brings so much light to life. The people who make fun of you or secretly don’t like you because you are full of light, kind, and tuned into a world beyond this one are the ones who may need to hear what you have to say or see what you have to express. So keep seeing your rainbows and butterflies and believing your expression makes a positive impact in the world, creating a better world for all to live in.
The butterflies have been yellow lately and flirting with one another with their wings. I am a big flirt like these little adorable yellow butterflies. I often run around hugging everyone and telling them beautiful things I see in them. I love flirting with The Light and this Life and everyone who appears on this path. It’s really just a form of p0woerful love. I don’t care what they think. Or even what they do. I am just here to be who I am. And the miserable people can either stop taking themselves so seriously (they aren’t that big of a deal) or go somewhere else to be in their misery. I love that the more we all run around flirting with pure hearts with our yellow butterfly wings, we are laughing, belly laughing, and enjoying life, just as it was intended to be. Thanks for being here and reading this post. I hope it makes you want to go love life more and live lightheartedly.
